| Mode | Purpose | Connection |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign | Shade’s story through League tours | Offline supported |
| Scenarios | Shorter runs with preset conditions | Offline supported |
| Arcade | Trials and time challenges | Events work offline; connected boards need internet |
| Online racing | Tour or quick races against other players, as reviewed | Internet required |
Arcade is not a universal practice selector
The PS5 reviewer reported no custom offline quick-race or individual-track practice option in the reviewed build. Being able to play Arcade offline does not mean every track can be selected for unrestricted laps.
The campaign stays solo
The FAQ calls the story campaign single-player. The same source says Arcade leaderboards display friends’ best times, rather than a public global board. Choose online racing if your goal is a live race with other players.
Galactic Racer Campaign and Run Progression — Separate current-tour risk from the progress that carries into later attempts.
Frequently asked questions
Does offline support mean local two-player play?
No. Offline describes connection requirements. The developer interview separately confirms that split-screen is not supported.
Do Deluxe trials replace the normal Arcade content?
Steam lists three exclusive Deluxe Arcade trials as extra edition content. They are separate from the base modes described here.
